Bennett's Curse leaves Dundalk mall after 26 years
The 20,000-square-foot haunted house is seeking a new Maryland location before its November 7 closing date.

Bennett's Curse is moving out of Eastpoint Mall in Dundalk after a decade of operation. The decision forces the 26-year-old family business to hunt for a new site before its current season ends.
Co-owner Jill Bennett described the venue as a core family tradition rather than a simple haunted house. She said the team finds joy in watching children grow up over multiple visits. This is the fifth relocation for the business, and the scale of the move presents a logistical challenge.
Bennett noted that moving an attraction with over 20,000 square feet is complex. The family requires a large space, ample parking, and a landlord willing to support a small business. She said finding a partner who understands the community impact of the event is difficult in the current market.
The search for a new home has paused some popular seasonal events. The Bennett family has not yet secured a replacement location. They remain focused on bringing the Halloween tradition back to the Maryland area.
Bennett expressed optimism about the potential transformation the move could bring. She said she is excited to see how the next step evolves for the business. The attraction remains open to the public Friday through Sunday until November 7.
