Marco Chacón, husband of actress Maribel Guardia, spoke out to address growing speculation about the family lineage of the late singer Julián Figueroa. The discussion followed comments made by attorney Alonso Beceiro, who suggested that additional children of Figueroa could emerge to claim a portion of the estate. Chacón sought to clarify the situation regarding the legal status of the family and the potential for new heirs.
Journalist Alex Rodríguez shared a conversation with Chacón on the program ¡Siéntese Quien Pueda! on November 3. Chacón explained that if a will were annulled, the door would open for new heirs to seek a participation in the inheritance. However, he noted that no specific heir has been identified. "If that will were annulled, that would open the possibility for new heirs to come looking for a participation, but it has not been said that there is a particular heir," Chacón stated.
The actor addressed the specific question of whether his wife has another grandchild. He acknowledged the sentiment of such a prospect but emphasized the lack of formal proof. "It would be wonderful if Maribel had another grandson, but we do not have record of it," Chacón wrote in a message read by Rodríguez. He was direct about the possibility that Figueroa had other children, though he maintained that the couple has not confirmed any such fact.
During the same broadcast, journalist Lucho Borrego noted that the couple has not launched an official investigation to locate possible descendants of the late singer. This contradicted reports circulating in the media. "Many media outlets are saying that Maribel and Marco are even paying to find out if Julián Figueroa left children, and he denies it," Borrego said. Chacón’s position is that the search is not yet an organized effort by the family.
The speculation stems from a statement by attorney Alonso Beceiro on October 29. Beceiro pointed out that because Figueroa did not leave a will, the singer did not specify his final wishes, creating potential complications regarding the estate. The attorney indicated that a search should be conducted to determine if Figueroa had another son who could claim his right. "Especially the part about sons appearing, right?" Beceiro said. "Could it be?" a reporter asked. "It could be," Beceiro replied.
José Manuel Figueroa, the late singer's half-brother, also reacted to the legal expert's comments. Speaking to media outlets including Despierta América, he expressed a personal desire for the possibility to be true. "It would be a blessing, wouldn't it? It would be a beautiful illusion, and I hope so," Figueroa said. He described the scenario as a beautiful way to defy death.
The family and their legal representatives continue to navigate the inheritance process without a definitive will. The absence of a testamentary document remains the central factor driving the current legal and public discourse. Chacón’s recent comments aim to provide clarity while the question of additional descendants remains open.
