Old Town Artisan Studios in La Quinta received a $30,000 Impact Grant on Monday to expand its arts education services for youth in the Coachella Valley.

The nonprofit provides free or reduced-cost classes in ceramics, painting, and mixed media. It operates a facility in La Quinta and runs mobile programs that partner with schools, the Boys and Girls Club, and the YMCA. Professional instructors lead these sessions.

Executive Director Roccie Hill said the funding will allow the group to strengthen existing partnerships. The money will also cover transportation, art supplies, and equipment upgrades. These resources aim to reduce current waitlists for children.

Officials stated the grant will enable the organization to reach between 150 and 250 additional students during the 2026-27 program year. The expansion targets underfunded communities and includes new collaborations with tribal groups.

Catharine Reed, vice president of charitable programs for the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation, noted that access to creative education should be available to all. The Berger Foundation partners with KESQ News Channel 3 to award these grants to local nonprofits.

The organization will use the funds to improve its outreach efforts directly. More details about the program are available on the group's website.
