Viewers of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" watched two celebrity couples leave the competition on Tuesday evening. The show aired a special Halloween-themed episode titled "Horror Movie Night," which featured a double elimination because no couple was sent home during the previous week's broadcast.
Each pair performed a routine inspired by a specific horror film, incorporating costumes and choreography that matched the source material. The judges scored the performances, resulting in Jackson Olson and his professional partner Emma Slater, along with Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess, being eliminated from the show.
The night's highest score went to actor Harry Shum Jr. and professional dancer Jenna Johnson. They performed a contemporary routine to the song "Toxic" by 2WEI, themed around the movie "Saw." All four judges gave them a perfect 10, bringing their total for the night to 40 out of 40. Their combined score for both performance nights is 76.
Actress Jenna Dewan and professional Val Chmerkovskiy also received a high total of 37 points for their Argentine tango. The dance was set to "Uninvited" by Damned Anthem and Kendra Dantes and referenced zombie films. Judge Derek Hough stood up to praise the precision and power of their performance, calling it one of the best Argentine tangos he had seen on the program.
In the bottom two, Jackson Olson and Emma Slater performed a contemporary dance to Frank Sinatra's "That's Life." Their routine was based on the character of the Joker. Although the judges noted his commitment to the dark character, the couple did not receive enough votes to stay. Their combined score for the two nights was 67.
Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess placed last for the second consecutive night. They danced a Viennese waltz to Annie Lennox's "Love Song by a Vampire," themed after "Bram Stoker's Dracula." The judges praised Cameron's ability to move despite his height but noted that his technique needed improvement. Their combined score for the week was 58.
The remaining couples will return on Monday, Nov. 2, for a special "Disney Night." Actress and singer Cynthia Erivo will serve as the special guest judge for that upcoming episode.
