Lionsgate U.K.'s horror-comedy “Ghosts: The Possession of Button House” took the top spot at the U.K. and Ireland box office. The film collected £2.4 million, or $3.2 million, during its opening three days. This opening placed it ahead of two major new releases that debuted in the same period.
Warner Bros.' DC horror thriller “Clayface” opened in second position. It earned $2.6 million in its first weekend. Amazon MGM Studios' comedy feature “Ali G: Who Iz I?” followed in third place. That film generated $1.7 million in its debut session.
Black Bear’s animated fantasy “Wildwood” directed by Travis Knight, secured the fourth position. It brought in $1.36 million. Paramount’s “Street Fighter” dropped from first place last week to fifth this week. The sequel added $1.35 million in its second outing, lifting its cumulative total to $5.6 million.
Universal’s animated feature “Forgotten Island” placed sixth in its second weekend. It collected $1.2 million for a total of $3.7 million. Sony’s psychological thriller “Verity” followed in seventh position in its fourth frame. It added $857,067, bringing the Colleen Hoover adaptation’s running total to $14.4 million.

Studiocanal’s animated holdover “Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom” rounded out the top ten. It collected $408,089 in its sixth frame, lifting its cumulative total to $6.1 million.
Mubi’s documentary “Making Marie Antoinette” opened across six sites. It took $1,737 over the weekend for a total of $24,355.
