Tyrese Haliburton will sit out upcoming Indiana Pacers games with a strained left hamstring. The injury emerged after he played in a back-to-back set in Milwaukee over the weekend. Team doctors and the guard are still determining a specific return timeline, so the exact duration of his absence remains unknown.
Haliburton had just returned to the court after missing 16 months to recover from a torn Achilles tendon sustained during the 2025 NBA Finals. He took the floor for Indiana's first four games of the season. After Monday's contest, he described his physical condition as feeling a little beat up. He was officially listed on the injury report on Wednesday.
His production had been strong in those limited appearances. He averaged 21.8 points, 9.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game. He shot 52% from the field while playing 33 minutes in each contest. These numbers reflect his contribution in a shortened start to the campaign.
The Pacers face a deeper roster problem than just Haliburton. Four of their five starters appeared on the injury report for Wednesday's matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. Ivica Zubac sat out with a left ankle sprain. T.J. McConnell has a right hamstring strain and has not played this season. Ben Sheppard tore his left meniscus, and Johnny Furphy underwent right ACL surgery. Andrew Nembhard missed Monday's game and is questionable for Wednesday due to neck soreness.
The injury aligns with a trend across the league. Star players from Oklahoma City, Minnesota, and Toronto have also suffered early season ailments. Indiana is navigating these absences while trying to improve on their previous record. The Pacers won only 19 games last season, the fewest in franchise history, while Haliburton was out for the entire year.
