The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to trade quarterback Jacoby Brissett to the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Both teams are finalizing the paperwork, and the deal is expected to close by the weekend. Specific terms have not been released yet.

Brissett signed a one-year, $15.5 million contract with the Cardinals this offseason. He started eight games for Arizona before losing his starting role to Gardner Minshew. Minshew led the team to a 33-30 comeback victory in Dallas. Following that win, Brissett dropped to the third string on the depth chart.

The 33-year-old passer has played in the NFL for 11 seasons. He holds a career record of 23-50 as a starter, having played for New England, Indianapolis, Miami, Cleveland, Washington, and Arizona. In his current season, he has completed 63.3 percent of his passes for 1,719 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

The Ravens moved into the market for additional quarterback help after losing their two primary options to injuries. Starter Lamar Jackson missed time due to a thumb injury, while backup Tyler Huntley suffered a toe injury. This move provides the Baltimore squad with another experienced arm on the roster.

Brissett was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He began his career as a backup to Tom Brady. His journeyman path has taken him through six franchises over the past decade.
