The Carolina Panthers will face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Thursday night with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET. Both franchises enter the contest seeking to recover from disappointing results in the previous week.

Carolina finished Week 7 with a 43-13 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Panthers, who held a 3-3 record entering the Thursday matchup. Green Bay also fell short during that period, losing a 20-17 decision to the Detroit Lions. The Packers, who are 4-3, missed two field goals and failed to convert other opportunities in that game.

Oddsmakers list the Packers as 3.5-point favorites for Thursday. The total points line is set at 47.5. In terms of betting performance, the Panthers are 3-3 against the spread, while the Packers are 4-3. The Packers maintain a 12-7 advantage in the all-time series between the two teams.

R.J. White, CBS Sports' managing editor of Fantasy and gambling, favors the over in this game. The over has hit in seven of the last 10 meetings between these teams, a stretch dating back to 2007. In the Panthers' last 10 games, the over has gone 6-4. The over is 1-0 in Panthers games where the total has been set between 46 and 49 points.

Carolina ranks fifth in the league with 26.5 points scored per game but allows 27.7. Quarterback Bryce Young has completed 59.2% of his passes for 1,712 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is his leading target with 36 receptions, 511 yards, and two touchdowns.

Green Bay presents a more balanced statistical profile, scoring 20.6 points per game and allowing 20.7. Quarterback Jordan Love has completed 60% of his passes for 1,958 yards, 13 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Although the team leads the league in drops by its receivers, wide receivers Christian Watson and Matthew Golden are tied for the team lead with 34 receptions each. Watson has accumulated 595 yards and six touchdowns, while Golden has 512 yards and three scores.
